About Us

Why visit a Pediatric Dentist?

Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of dentistry. They receive two additional years of training beyond dental school to have the skills to appropriately care for the unique needs of a growing child. Just like how your child sees a pediatrician, pediatric dentists have more experience treating children than a general dentist. Your child’s primary or “baby” teeth may eventually fall out but they play a vital role in your child’s overall health, well being, and growth. They help your child chew, speak, and provide a path for permanent teeth to come into the mouth. Most importantly a beautiful healthy smile provides high self esteem and freedom from pain. A pediatric dentist can provide specialized care for your child so not only have a great smile, but also have no fear of the dentist.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help your child have a healthy smile for life. We support and build confidence in our patients, and give them and their families the tools to keep their teeth healthy as they grow. It all starts with our patient’s first tooth and we are there every step of the way.

Our Office

Our office offers comprehensive dental care from little ones starting from six months all the way through adolescence. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children see a pediatric dentist by the time they turn one or have their first tooth. However, we love seeing patients as young as six months to help establish great oral care routines before more teeth appear. Our office isn’t one size fits all. We provide custom oral health plans for each patient and tailor treatment to meet each patient’s unique needs. We may prescribe x-rays based on your child’s cavity risk status and growth and development.

We are inclusive and love seeing patients with special needs as well as complex medical conditions. It’s important to us to ensure that all of our patient’s families are informed of their child’s treatment, so for those families who do not speak English we also offer translating services for any language. We also understand that every child is unique and some may do better with their parent during treatment and some not. We support your choice to be with your child during treatment or staying in the waiting room.

Meet Dr. Graham

Dr. Catherine Graham (Dr. Cat) is originally from Calgary, Canada. She graduated summa cum laude with her bachelors in dance at the University of Alabama in 2010 (Roll Tide!) and went on to dance professional ballet in New York, Montgomery, and Birmingham until she returned to academics to complete her Masters of Public Health with Specialization in Health Behavior at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2015. After shadowing Dr. Patrick Nassetta, Dr. Cat knew that pediatric dentistry was her passion, and followed her dreams to dental school.

She completed her Doctorate of Medical Dentistry (DMD) at the University of Pennsylvania, and graduated with honors in radiology in 2019. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honors society, an honor granted to dental students at the top of their class exemplifying excellence in scholarship and character.

Dr. Cat completed her two year pediatric dental residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville where she was able to care for patients at Shands Hospital. During residency Dr. Cat was awarded the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Graduate Student Research Award finalist position for her research in the links between microbiology and dental caries prevention.

Following residency Dr. Cat continued her academic journey by passing two exams, written and oral, to become a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist.  Board certification is an optional additional level of study and examination that challenges pediatric dentists to perform at the highest level of their specialty.  Dr. Cat has received this honor bestowed by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Recipients of this designation are carefully chosen. In fact, only 38% of pediatric dentists receive this recognition.

Dr. Cat is committed to supporting and empowering children of all ability levels through dental treatment, while also offering treatment options in the operating room at Cullman Regional Medical Center as well as in-office IV Sedation. She was a nervous girl when she was young and understands the importance of making dental visits fun and fear-free.

Dr. Cat married Dr. Matt Graham of Graham Orthodontics in 2015, and fell in love with Dr. Matt’s hometown of Cullman straight away. She and Dr. Matt live in Cullman and are active members of the community. When not working, Dr. Cat loves to be outdoors, drive her bright blue Jeep Wrangler, watch Alabama football, and film event videos (like weddings!) for friends and family.

She and Dr. Matt have three cats and a baby girl!
